We can solve it in this way
$$\begin{array}{lcl}
9^x 3^4 = 3^{10}\\
(3^2)^x 3^4 = 3^{10}\\
3^{2x} 3^4 = 3^{10}\\
3^{2x+4} = 3^{10}\\
2x+4 = 10\\
2x = 6\\
x = 3\\
\end{array}$$
